Vancouver Condos / Featured Work / Animation
Local Vancouver real estate agents VancouverCondos.com wanted a series of videos to help promote the neighbourhoods in which they sell. Our video producers assesed the merits of each neighbourhood and working closely with the clients produced a short script. Once we had a script written it was a relatively easy task of going out and shooting these with a host and collecting the neccessary B-Roll elements. The finished result is a professional and engaging preview of many of Vancouver's most unique neighbourhoods and their lifestyle potential.
Cottage Advisors / Case Study / Animation
Overview
Maine, USA based Cottage Advisors enjoys an enviable position as a premium supplier of seasonal cottage resort style properties. With several seasonal developments spread across the eastern seaboard of the United States and several projects in Canada, LNG Studios was humbled to be asked a 2nd time to supply high quality exterior animations of the cottage properties.
Challenges
Summer Village is a large-scale seasonal resort community project located in Prince Edward County, Ontario, Canada. The project required creating a 3D flyover of the entire site showcasing the landscape, views and arrangement of cottages and amenity buildings. Due to the physical size of the site LNG Studios designers focused great attention to studying land surveys and topographical information to accurately create an accurate terrain model sloping gently towards the lake front. In addition using high resolution mapping software our designers were able to accurately recreate the lake front vista and accompanying details.
The scope of the project also required accurately modeling the different options of cottages available featuring one and two bedroom cottages as well as the restaurant, general store, community centre and auxiliary buildings that complete the site
Summary
The 3D animation features extensively in the sales and marketing strategy for Summer Village. In addition to featuring as part of the main sales and presentation centre on site, Cottage Advisors have made great use of this video as part of their social media campaign including Facebook, YouTube and Twitter accruing over 10,000 hits.
Grace-Rise Enterprises / Case Study / Animation, Objects
Overview Grace-Rise Enterprises asked LNG Studios to create a specific character animation for their UpPotential project. The UpPotential project is unique health program intended for a Chinese audience. The character of Little Po is a guide throughout the program, a reflection of the ideas and motifs being put forward.
Challenges Creating an accurate set of character animations that met the expectations of the end user and fulfilled the guide role was challenging. Knowing that the project would require multiple poses LNG Studios designers worked initially on concept drawings with the client to establish a general theme and design. The Little Po character was then created in XSI with multiple rigging points so that the torso, arms legs, hands and head could be easily manipulated into various poses and emotions. As the UpPotential project deals with specific forms of health care the ability to create accurate emotions from the Little Po character was a necessity. In addition LNG Studios’ designers were able create an accompanying suite of props that fit with the mandate of each required pose.
Summary Even though the design is simple the themes are easily visually conveyed. The final result not only met but exceeded our client’s expectations. Little Po was so successful that our client was able to not only capitalize on the character but has since gone on to pursue merchandising, a song and figurine characters.
